Leadership and Governance Philosophy
At Southwest Medical IPA, we believe that the strategic direction of an Independent Physician Association should be guided by those who understand the front lines of patient care. Our leadership team consists of practicing independent physicians and medical administrators from the Lubbock area who possess firsthand knowledge of running an autonomous medical practice. This physician-led governance structure guarantees that every decision made, from contract negotiations to policy advocacy, directly benefits our membership and preserves the vital doctor-patient relationship.

Unlike large healthcare networks or hospital-owned groups, our board is completely free from corporate influence. Because our Independent Physician Association receives zero funding from hospitals or outside corporations, our leadership answers exclusively to our 140+ member doctors. This alignment of interests allows us to execute strategic goals with absolute transparency, keeping the medical professional’s freedom and financial viability at the heart of our mission.
